BURR INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Burr classes are visiting the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown throughout this week.

Students on Monday morning discussed the rain forest with the Sweetbriar staff.

Among the topics, they spoke about the layers of the rainforest and the symbiotic relationship between flora and fauna, such as during the pollination process. They also learned how toucans alert other rainforest inhabitants to approaching predators, like blue jays to in our local environment.
