BURR INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Burr Intermediate School held a special dedication on Wednesday.

Dr. Randy Kay joined the students to open a "Little Free Library" by the school's fields. The blue box filled with books is adjacent to a "buddy bench" previously donated by the Shana Kay Memorial Foundation.

Dr. Kay's daughter Shana, a CHS alum, passed away while in college from encephalitis, a virus that causes inflammation of the brain.

The Shana Kay Memorial Foundation is dedicated to preserving her memory and supporting the district through projects and scholarships.

Students and other visitors are encouraged to take or deposit a book.
