Return of the Cabbage Patch Kids
A student poses with their cabbage
Third graders at Burr and Sawmill had the opportunity to revisit Marion Carll farm to check on the progress of their cabbages and check out the district’s beekeeping area. Students weeded out their cabbages, journaled the progress of their cabbages’ growth and fertilized them.
The students were greeted by members of the CHS Bee Club who introduced them to the world of beekeeping. The third graders were all smiles as they had the chance to try on a beekeeping hat and learn about how the bees make honey. To finish off their trip, the students had the opportunity to feed the goats that are living on the farm, which was a joy for all.
